Staňková, Helena ; Rolenc, Jan Martin (advisor) ; Peterková, Jana (referee)
This bachelor thesis analyses the development of the bilateral relationship between the Czech Republic and the Kingdom of Norway between the years 2000 and 2017. Another goal of this thesis is to prove that the dispute which the countries had between each other and which escalated in 2014 have not had a major influence on the long-term development of the relationship. The thesis is divided into four chapters. The first chapter introduces the theory of cooperation between countries and emphasizes the need for cooperation. The second chapter presents the foreign policies of Norway and the Czech Republic. It also explains why the states are cooperating together. The third chapter discusses the dispute about the Czech children taken by the Norwegian authorities in 2011. The last chapter analyses the development in individual areas of cooperation, which are cultural, security and economic areas of cooperation.

Hübnerová, Petra ; Volenec, Otakar (advisor) ; Knotková, Vladimíra (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with the issue of cultural diplomacy both on the theoretical, and practical level. First, the concept of cultural diplomacy itself, its varioud fields, its meaning, and its impact, is introduced. Then the focus of this paper turns towards areas that are closely connected to cultural diplomacy, specifically soft power, national branding, and above all public diplomacy. The last part of the thesis is conducted in the form of a case study of Czech-Japanese cultural cooperation as a means of cultural diplomacy. It is shown on the example of a Czech theatre ensemble - The Little Kyogen Theatre-- that specializes in one of the traditional Japanese theatre genres, the kyogen farce. An important part of the case study consists of an introduction of the role of the Japanese cultural envoy, bunko koryushi.
